IMFT – Toulouse Institute of Fluid Mechanics
The Toulouse Institute of Fluid Mechanics (IMFT) is a Joint Research Unit placed under the shared authority of Toulouse INP (ENSEEIHT), the CNRS (Institute of Engineering Sciences and Systems) and Paul Sabatier University (Department of Mechanics).
Created in 1918, it was initially a research laboratory in hydraulics known for its experimental studies on scale models. Now focused on experimentation, modeling and numerical simulation, it has become one of the world's leading research laboratories in fluid mechanics.
Director: Eric CLIMENT, Professor at INP-ENSEEIHT
Research areas:
Flows with deformable interfaces and multiphase flows / Flows and transfers in heterogeneous environments / Flows with phase changes, chemical or biochemical reactions / hydrodynamic instability, transition to turbulence and developed turbulence / Large scale flows in natural and man-made environments and their interaction with living things.
