Plasma Laboratory and Energy Conversion CNRS / INP-ENSEEIHT / UPS
LAPLACE boasts the highest concentration of research in Electrical Engineering and Plasma in France, and is the only unit to cover the continuum of plasma, materials and systems in an integrated way. The research conducted at LAPLACE ranges from the study of physical mechanisms of energy conversion to the systems that implement them.
Director: Thierry LEBEY, Research Director at CNRS.
Research areas:
Research conducted at LAPLACE ranges from the study of energy conversion mechanisms to the systems that implement them (from the concept to the demonstrator):
Main axes:
- The behavioral study of materials and the search for new materials for electrical engineering and power electronics,
- Studies on plasma created by all types of discharges and their applications,
- The development of activities on the systems and more particularly on the constituents of the electrical networks, on the integration of the power systems and their control and on NTE (New Technologies of Energy)
Other axes:
Plasma / living interaction: cellular regeneration, antitumor effect of plasma and study of plasma on prionic protein
