U7 – UNESCO 17 Sustainable Development Goals Symposium

In January of their final year of studies, all 3rd year (M2) engineering students actively participate in a scientific poster session in English in order to present and validate their civic engagement activities (or 10 hours per semester during their studies at the N7) or their involvement in corporate social responsability projects, in light of one or more of the 17 UNESCO Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Each team of students is an example of inclusion and diversity (SDGs #5 and #17) and groups together different profiles, student or apprentice statuses, international backgrounds, etc.

The objective for students is three-fold :

  • to employ an international framework to develop knowledge, competencies and proactivity in relation to sustainable development and corporate social responsibility
  • to perfect competencies in professional communication in English (design and creation of scientific posters, team interaction-mediation in a poster session with a range of visitors composed of student peers, alumni, teaching and administrative staff)
  • to enhance transversal skills for other scientific project defenses in English or French.
